Navy Modernization Logistics Course For Ships,
Carriers, and Submarines
(NMLCSCS)

Overview

The Navy Modernization Logistics Course for Ships, Carriers and Submarines (NMLCSCS) Course is an intensive two day training program designed to provide participants with an appreciation of the complexities and interrelationships of efforts required to achieve Navy Modernization and Logistics Support Objectives for Ships, Carriers, Submarines using Navy Modernization Process Management and Operations Manual.

 

The NMLCSCS will help participants to understand Navy policy, processes and elements involved in the NMP-MOM.  The NMLCSCS covers the Acquisition Logistics, Maintenance Planning, Alteration Installation Management, Equipment/Ship Configuration Management, Ship/Equipment Alteration Development, Allowance Development for Ships / Carriers / Submarines during the Navy Modernization Process Management and Operations process.

 

This course covers the policies, procedures, databases, and processes, which contribute to, or function within, the Navy Modernization Process Management and Operations Manual.  This includes the goals and objectives for the ILS Cert Goals for Supply Support, Provisioning, Equipment/Ship Configuration Management, Allowance Development, GF Material asset management and Material Outfitting process using the Deployment Focused Integrated Logistics Support (DFILS) program and the Continuous Integrated Logistics Support (CILS), Targeted Allowance Technique (TAT) Process for Navy Ships, Carriers and Submarines.

 

The NMLCSCS is for government Civilian, Military, and Navy support contractor personnel, Department of Defense Contractors (Equipment/System Contractors and Ship Repair Contractors), personnel for example:

 

    a.   Civilian:

 

            Logistics Management Specialists, Program Managers, Supply Support Managers, Alteration Installation Managers / Planners, Maintenance Planners, Material Managers and Certification/Metrics Specialists, etc..

 

    b.   Military:

 

            Fleet Staff Officers, Fleet Maintenance Officers, Commanding/Staff Officers of Headquarters Field Activities, Supply Officers, Store Keepers, Shipboard Leading Petty Officers, On-Board Maintenance personnel and 3M Coordinators, etc..

    c.   Navy Support / Private Contractors:

 

            Support or private contractors providing Program Management, Alteration Installation Management, Alteration Planning, Maintenance Planning, Equipment/Ship Configuration Management, Allowance Development, and Material Outfitting for Ships / Submarines undergoing Availability and Modernization through the NMP-MOM Process.

 

    d.   Other Personnel:

 

            This course is also for personnel involved in Logistics Support, Ship and Equipment Alteration Development, Planning, Budgeting, Contracting, and Execution of Modifications to Navy Ships / Submarines prior to, during Pier Side Alteration Installations, Availability and Modernization periods through the Continuous Integrated Logistics Support (CILS) / Targeted Allowance Technique (TAT) Process for Navy Ships, Carriers and Submarines to meet the ILS Cert Goals for Supply Support, Provisioning, Equipment/Ship Configuration Management, Allowance Development, and Material Outfitting process.
